They've been around for a while but the Pebble smartwatches, including the Steel model, will hit the UK thanks to mobile network O2. Read: The 10 best smartwatches 2014 UK.
Although exact release dates are yet to be confirmed, the pair of Pebble wearables will go on sale next month. The regular Pebble will cost £99 while the newer and more premium Pebble Steel will be priced at £179. A Cherry Red edition will be an exclusive.
It will be the first time the gadget has been available to buy on the UK high street, said the firm. It's worth noting that they have been available online with retailers such as Amazon.
O2 said: "Started with Kickstarter funding that gave the Pebble its launch, this is the smartwatch that offers a week's battery life, is water resistant to five fathoms and looks sleek on the arm … all in one of the most affordable packages available."
The Pebble App store has more than 4,000 apps which have been built specifically for the watches and have been downloaded five million times, according to O2.
Unlike rivals, the Pebble smartwatches use an e-ink screen. Physical buttons provide an easy and intuitive way to interact and both are compatible with millions of smartphones thanks to Android and iOS apps.
The Pebble smartwatches have plenty of competition in the booming wearable market with almost every tech firm wanting a slice of the cake. We've just reviewed the hotly anticipatedMoto 360, the LG Watch R and Asus ZenWatch are both coming soon and Apple has announced its own in the form of the Apple Watch (not iWatch as expected).
