Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Features, screenshots and trailers
Advanced Warfare has been developed by Sledgehammer Games and is the first game in the series to be created in a three-year development cycle, rather than two.
The game is set in a 'plausible' 2054 when a terrorist organization known as the KVA initiates the first global terrorist attack in history by simultaneously destroying the nuclear reactors of developed countries around the globe, including the United States.
Activision said: "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war."
It's still a first-person shooter (FPS) but information is displayed via holographic projections from the weapon equipped rather than the traditional heads-up display. New gun mechanics, for some weapons, include the ability to recharge slowly.
You'll still be able to play single player missions, online multi-player with new tools and perks, plus exo survival co-op which allows to the play with up to three friends against waves of increasingly more difficult enemies.
