Xperia Z3 launch: what we said would happen

Now amuse yourself by reading what we *thought* would happen before the Xperia Z3 launch today.
The Xperia Z2 may not have been around for long but Sony doesn't wait as long as its rivals to refresh devices so we're expecting the launch of the new flagship Xperia Z3. That's not the only device Sony is rumoured to launch though.
Sony is rumoured to be launching a number of smartphones a tablet, and at least onesmartwatch. Alongside the Z3 is thought to be a Z3 Compact and a Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact – Sony's first smaller sized tablet - which will all be waterproof but reportedly still Full HD in terms of screen resolution rather than anything higher.
The firm is also supposedly launching the SmartWatch 3 as a follow-up to the SmartWatch 2 but it's unclear whether the new wearable will run on Android Wear or not. A new version of the SmartBand is tipped called the SmartBand Talk.
That's a lot of devices, especially for Sony, and there could be more as the ones mentioned above are all high-end. Sony's IFA 2014 press conference will start at 3:15 UK time which will be shortly after Samsung's Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 finishes – Sony's rival will almost certainly announce the Galaxy Note 4.
You're all set for live coverage of the event (we'll embed the feed as soon as it's available) so come back on Wednesday and enjoy.
